Served through the South African Campaign in the 8th Division under General Rundle and was present at the Battle of Biddulphsberg.
He received the Queen's medal with three clasps and the King's medal with two Clasps
Retired from the Army.
On the outbreak of war joined the Leicestershire Yeomanry.
Proceeded to France with the Ecpeditionary Force
Wounded in action near Ypres
Died in a French hospital at Poperinge
