The Battle for Mount Sorrel 2-13 june 1916
The fighting continues and the enemy has taken a heavy toll from the 5th in officers and men.
The enemy is being well held and counter attacks are beginning to push him back.
This evening the remnants of the 8th Canadian Infantry Brigade ( incl. 5th Bn. Canadian Mounted Rifles) are to be relieved by the 9th Canadian Infantry Brigade and go back to rest camp.
It's during this fighting that August was killed in action and his body never found again.
